The Euro: Many Countries, One Currency
Since 2001 the European currency "Euro" is the money to use in Germany. The new coins and notes have - without considerable disruptions - replaced the "German Mark". Thus, for trade and travel within sixteen European Union countries, namely Germany, Belgium, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Finland, Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta and Slovakia money exchange is no longer necessary.
